Working for Caribbean Production Service Company, Above Barbados were hired to film the aerial aspects of the 2017 Virgin Media advertisement shoot.
A week-long production taking place in Barbados the shoot involved extensive tech planning/rehearsals culminating in two days of shooting on the East and West Coast of Barbados.
For the shoot we were flying the X5R camera on a DJI Inspire 1 platform. The shooting involved a lolt of close quarter flying and low (1 metre high) shots over water.
Every shot was fed live in high-definition to the monitors so that the director and assistant director could okay each shot immediately. We ensured continuity on the composited aerial shots by utilising GPS waypoints for shot setup.
The final video was part of a UK national campaign on television, billboard and cinema.
And believe it or not, yes, the local production crew did build that 'SALE' in the water out of thousands of inflatable water floaties!
